The Coyote Story stands as a testament to the rich history of river boating in Western Canada.
Rob Chrunyk, the driving force behind Coyote Manufacturing Ltd., was raised with a deep-rooted passion for jet boats. His father, Fred Chrunyk, blazed trails as one of the foremost pioneers in the jet boat sport. Fred’s journey began in the late 1960s, crafting his own jet boats before transitioning to designing recreational aluminum and steel vessels.
Fred made waves in river racing from 1973, piloting renowned boats under the Coyote name until his retirement in the early 1990s. In honor of his father’s legacy, Rob embarked on his latest venture in the boat industry, preserving the Coyote name.
With Fred’s guidance, Rob entered river racing in 1982, clinching the world jet boat racing title at a record-breaking age of 23. Collaborating with partner Alex Millar, Rob co-founded Outlaw Marine in Alberta in 1987. Following his entrepreneurial spirit, Rob established Eagle Power Boats in 1993, later merging it with Harber Craft Boats.
In 2009, Rob joined forces with longtime associate Mike Sinclair to launch Bratt Jet. The culmination of this journey came in the fall of 2016, with the formation of Coyote Manufacturing Ltd., driven by an unwavering commitment to quality and innovation. While specializing in family, recreational, pleasure, and work boats, every Coyote product reflects the invaluable lessons gleaned from decades of designing and constructing race boats.
